I've had this pink hibiscus for 2 years now and it seems weird to me that the blooms on it never fully open, and then wither. Does any one know why that is? Should i place it elsewhere?

Beautiful pink hibiscus and wow look at her container! She's growing directly in the ground, right through the bottom of the container, right? That's just the way she blooms, and I think shes very pretty too! Thanks for sharing your pink hibiscus.

"OneEyeLuke" Yes, last year she was half this size overall height, width, blooms ect.... I decided to punch out the bottom of the wooden bucket and this year she got huge. But blooms stayed coned-shaped. lol

I don't know. Maybe they do that in Texas, but certainly not ever up here in Minnesota. Welcome to the site JayZeke. I'm not sure why everyone expects that everyone else should know where in the world their town is, but sorry, I'm not psychic and I have no idea where Elkhart is.

Check for thrips. They can make a bloom wither before fully open.Roses get them also.Tap a bloom while holding it over a white piece of paper. If you have tiny straight line looking insects jumping around on the paper you have them. They are as tiny as one of the "I"s in the word thrip in this post.If you have them spray blooms just as they are starting to open.Also these plants love water so make sure they are not kept to dry.

"PlantLvr2" awesome i will check that out today. I mean they open slightly and remain that way for a few days before they drop. So it makes me think what "oneeyeluke" said is true. She might just bloom that way. 😕
