Please post an image since it might not be a ladybug. Ladybugs eat other insects primarily and it would not be a good idea to kill them.

It is not a Lady Bug if it is chewing your plants.

They do not eat leaves or flowers. They may "walk" on top of the flowers and help pollinate but that is it. Post a picture to see if someone can identify it.

I did find out that ladybugs in the Epilachninae sub family do in fact eat herbaceous material and can sometimes become a pest. That was the only case that I found that said that ladybugs eat anything but other insects.
I even found an instance where a female ladybug of a particular species deposits her eggs in another insect. That was something that I did not know.

@BigBill I tip my hat to you.

Until recently, I did not know that there are "bad" ladybugs. A few weeks ago, after perusing different sites that discussed these, I tried to memorize the differences in appearance. Last week I found a dead lady bug on my patio. It may sound weird, but I was saddened by that. Sad Until...I remembered that they are not all good.

So, I quickly ran inside and got a piece of white paper and a magnifying glass. Sure enough there was the obvious "M" signifying an Asian (invasive) variety. So I definitely was very happy that it was not alive! Hurray! Hurray!

Note: not all species of Asian Ladybugs have the M, and there are many different species! Grumbling Grumbling

I believe there is a green Mexican lady bug that is considered a pest, but doubtful it has made it to Canada.

My solution to all bug problems: invite birds into your yard.

Those are Japanese beetles, not ladybugs!
It is almost the end of the growing season. Pick them of and squish them. No need to spray now.
