Spring is here and the daylilies are starting to bloom down here way south of the equator. There should be lots of goodies from us in Australia this season. Hopefully we can attract some posts from the other southern continents too.

This is my first bloom for the 2019-2020 season. It is consistently one my early bloomers. It is one of Graham Nunan's who did his hybridising in Brisbane in a small suburban garden. I have been trying to collect all his cultivars but in the last 10 years several have been lost (like many Australian hybrids ).

I think this is truly my favorite thread here each year. We're nearing the end. Thinking bad thoughts. Then, out of nowhere, there's a thread about Spring coming... in Australia! It would be fun to see what people are growing in South Africa or Argentina. Maybe it will catch on.

How's the weather been? I seem to remember seeing some really dry footage on the news and worrying about you a couple months back.

Tim, it is very dry. The bushfires have been raging on the mainland. They are under control at the moment. We did have a thunderstorm three days ago but the earth just slurped it up.
I live on one of the few dirt roads on the island. People speed along it. I have bought a mask to help me in the garden when the traffic is bad.

The DW and I saw footage time to time this past year of those fires. Hope you get some rains and will not have to endure wearing the mask to much.

BROOKWOOD LEE CAUSEY X SKINWALKER 3RB, 13,6. I was too late in the morning and the sun was full on it to photograph well.
This is its second year. It started as a nice blushing pink but has become more yellow with each season. I will cull it.

Thank you Mike. I just put in another raise bed. I can just back out the car between them. Any more, the vehicle will be land-locked.
