For the life of me, I can not figure out how to post a photograph of my garden or my plants, i have over 3000 species, and I just can not figure it out, except to go to the plant in the database and add it there, to all the other photographs of that species in the database. I cant see how to add a fun plant of the day or just a random shot from my gardens. Its very frustrating, there is no icon, or bar to press to download a photo into any of the forums or features, that I can see.

If you could help me that would be great. I rebuild my home page but still dont see any invitations to post photographs.

To add a photo to your posts, just scroll to the bottom of the comment posting box and click the green UPLOAD AN IMAGE button. Browse or navigate to the desired photo on your computer (off your desktop or in your pictures folder), select the photo in question in the Windows 10 window, click the OPEN button on that window and this sight will grab/upload you photo. Takes a few seconds to upload. Simple as that. No photo hosting site required.

Kat, I am seeing that you have successfully posted wonderful photos to the forums in the past, for example:

The thread "Floristically Challenged Alphabet Soup: Letters S through Z." in Garden Photos forum

So I'm wondering what has changed to make this more difficult for you. Are you using a different device?

You do have to be within a forum (not on your home page) to see that button saying "Upload an image". Maybe you're just a click away from doing what you want? Smiling Forum options are available under "Community" in the topmost menu bar, or when in doubt you can choose the Garden Photos forum to share pics there (see link above).

You can go to the forum list found under the Community tab in the menu bar at the top of the page and pick a forum, like Garden Photos, and start a new thread. ( scroll to the bottom to start a new thread). Some forums have running threads that you can post to, adding your photos.
The featured photos on the Home page are automatically randomly selected from the database and not something you can upload.

I think I figured out that in order to post a photograph of what I am allegedly up to, lol, is to go to an existing thread or series of posts and add to it. And yes I did do Alphabet Soup on here last year, and that was an existing thread I was able to add to. And I have entered photos of species I have in their respective threads in the database. But I cant find a way to actually start a thread on my own yet, and I guess that is ok. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

Also, I must have some how figured out how in the past with Alphabet Soup.... so obviously, like Zaphod Beetlebrox from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, I must have welded part of my brain shut.

You can go to your profile and look at your old posts, you have asked this same question before. nodding I think not using the site as often, one can forget how to navigate around!
The thread "How to post a photo" in Ask a Question forum

Yes, I did ask the question before. Who ever advised me before was most helpful, and I think I actually figured out how, long enough to cook up Floristic Alphabet Soup, but I was not confident and couldn't really find an easy path, but I'm now a bit more comfortable navigating, so thanks.
