Planning has begun on the 8th Annual Kevin Vaughn Hybridizing Clinic. Mark your calendars for April 24, 25 & 26, 2020.
Hurray! Hurray!
All events, except evening meals at restaurants, are free. No charge for Friday, Saturday and Sunday events.

Hotel reservations will be at the brand new Independence Hotel in Independence, OR. Just a few minutes from my house in Dallas, OR and in the opposite direction to Kevin Vaughn's house in Salem, OR. Beautiful views of the Willamette River, lovely small town atmosphere, and their very own resident Osprey, complete with nest on the river.

Deadline for making reservations is April 13th. You get the discounted price from Thurs.April 24 thru Sunday the 26th . To get the $20 discount, when you call tell them you are part of the Sempervivum Group. With your reservation you get free buffet style breakfast each morning. Or use the code: SEMPER if booking on-line.

The seedling judging was a big hit @ the 2019 Clinic, we will definitely be doing the seedling judging again in 2020.
All seedlings entered must be at least 2 years old as of spring of 2020.
If we have enough entries for heuffelii, globiferum and x nixonii we will separate them into their own group, separate from the regular sempervivum.

Good morning Sol. I will have an answer for that question next week. I sure hope so, it is my favorite place to go.

And just a reminder for anyone that plans on entering the seedling judging, they must be at least 2 years old.

Yes we have our first planning meeting for Wednesday! It is exciting to see everyone again.

We are right at the edge of the Fire Marshall not allowing us in the shed at Robert's Crossing. They have a bigger venue but we must do a buffet instead of a plated meal. We have lots more scheduled to come this year (including a possible special guest!!) and I don't want to exclude anyone but also not wear out our welcome at Robert's either. So, one of the decisions will be on that issue. We will also work out a schedule for all of the events and then post everything here.

I think the ones from out of town will enjoy the new venue. It has a beautiful view and is an easy walk to trendy little coffee shops, restaurants and boutique stores. We will dine in one of the restaurants on Friday night.

Christie,

Oregon is a beautiful state and so much to see. If I were you and wanted to do a vacation here around the clinic time I would include visits to Mount Hood. Multnomah Falls and Cannon Beach. All are easy drives from Salem.

Devil's Punch Bowl is fascinating. Looking forward to meeting you in person Christie. The best of vacations for me is traveling by car to see our beautiful country. And the Pacific Northwest is some of the most beautiful. I might be just a tad prejudice. Whistling

That sounds wonderful - you will need to tell me all of that again closer to the clinic.

Just back from a meeting with Cynda, Dave, Bev and Lynn on planning out the meeting. We made a lot of progress and are just waiting for details on the meals to be a hundred % ready.

Toured the new Independence Hotel and I have to say it is BEAUTIFUL. The rooms are sort of in an art deco style and have lovely view of the Willamette River and with all sorts of nice amenities. The guests will feel REALLY pampered there. We are planning on dinner there Friday night and the guests will have an elaborate breakfast to start each day. After the tour I WISHED THAT I WAS GOING TO BE A GUEST! They have both two queen bed and single king options.

The hotel is about 5 miles from my yard and probably 8 miles from Lynn's so VERY CONVENIENT!

Am so excited about having you all visit.
