This morning my linearis dropped its peduncle
I can understand why this one did, it was an existing peduncle from when I purchased the plant two-ish months ago and recently the conditions (that it must've loved) changed. My retusa was looking like it needed a humidifier so I added one in the area and I guess the linearis doesn't appreciate it as much as the retusa. About a week after adding the humidifier, the peduncle dropped. That's the only thing I can think of other than just being inexperienced with helping them along to bloom. Do I water more or less when forming a bloom, leave it alone entirely, should I still wet the leaves like I have been etc. The linearis was loving a weekly bath (no water to the soil, just the leaves) once a week and I stopped when I put the humidifier in. The linearis is used to monsoon conditions rather than constant humidity which is why I devised the weekly bath plan.
The lacunosa...that one was unexpected to begin with. I didn't even know it had a peduncle let alone buds on it. I'm puzzled by that one. I've had it for a year in the same spot and never moved it. I didn't think a curtain would be rough enough to take it off, but maybe it was. The leaf next to it was on the floor too.
I'm bummed. Still have my fingers crossed for my DS70 and multiflora, though.
