Our 8 year old Bromeliads have been growing steadily without much attention but now we are thinking about how to control it. Start to take away some from the bottom, center or every where?

Also, the the bottom ones are a little dusty and would like to spray some soapy water on them, is that safe with dish washing detergent?
Thanks

Those look great! Are they having issues that would require them to be thinned? And wouldn't plain water wash off the dust? I tend to think of detergent washes to fight aphids or something. Rolling on the floor laughing More questions instead of an answer!

Well thanks for quick reply but no, there aren't any problems or issues except they just keep growing and look beautiful to us. Was just wondering but you gave us the answer by questioning "Are they having issues that would require them to be thinned?"

The dusty looking leaves are the bottom ones but does not come off with just water. Thank You!

I can't see the dust in the photo Smiling . I wish I could grow them like that here, but my location won't allow for that.

You can thin them but honestly they look fantastic your neighbors must be jealous.
