This little insect was found on a gaura plant, tiny, fast and resembles a white spiky dinosaur. Anyone know what he is? It's a little blurry- he's small.

I found a site geared to just Texas insects. They had this one that is possibly close. What do you think?

It's similar- but the Beech Blight bug is fuzzy. My little guy was like a fast armored tank, hard with white hard-looking spikes (like a stegosaurus!). It actually looked a lot like a completely bright white stegosaurus, and it didn't hop but ran when I accidentally disturbed it (was spraying Safer Soap but missed it, thankfully- or not thankfully, depending on what kind of insect he is!). I didn't want to kill him by accident if he was beneficial.

Thank you, GregC! I have seen mealy bugs before but they weren't big enough for me to see how "dinosaur" looking they are. Thanks for the ID!
