It's similar- but the Beech Blight bug is fuzzy. My little guy was like a fast armored tank, hard with white hard-looking spikes (like a stegosaurus!). It actually looked a lot like a completely bright white stegosaurus, and it didn't hop but ran when I accidentally disturbed it (was spraying Safer Soap but missed it, thankfully- or not thankfully, depending on what kind of insect he is!). I didn't want to kill him by accident if he was beneficial.
