I have an imgur album with less compressed pictures, but I'm a new member so I had to do these compressed uploads:

I'm not really sure what this plant is in the first place, it was a move in gift from my realtor about 3-4 years ago. This white fuzz appeared a long while ago but didn't seem to drastically affect the plant. Now as you can see it looks to be withering and the branches are twisting. For some reason I think it might be a sort of cactus but I'm not sure why that thought is in my head. My first thought was mites based on google, but I don't see much of anything moving around on it, and the white stuff is kind of almost like a powder. The cactus is normally situated beside a window with the blinds slanted downward towards the cactus (so generally very indirect light exposure; it grew that long branch to try to catch more light from the window, I assume). These pictures are outside because I needed the sunlight for proper photo exposure.

Reddit was no help, but I thought perhaps you folks might be.

Thanks

Just a shot, since I don't know what it would look like on a succulent.

Sclerotinia sclerotiorum? Or sclerotinia stem rot. White mold. A fungus. The treatment is a fungicide, but it may have already overwhelmed that plant.

Anyway, look it up and see what you think.

Your plant is a Cycas revoluta aka Sago Palm. It is looking pretty sad I'm afraid. Does look like a fungus or perhaps powdery mildew of some sort. I agree with the previous poster that it may be too far gone for treatment but hopefully someone will be along to give you more encouraging news. Good luck!

That's unfortunate. It was very close to the sink the entire time I have had it, for easier watering (and access to the kitchen window). What type of fungicide would be recommended? I can still give it a shot.

Here is a photo and database entry for Sago Palm with info about the plant. I will put a call out to one of our houseplant experts and he should be able to help you. @WillC

I can't tell from the photos but does the pot have drainage holes? Looks like it was over watered and stayed so damp it started getting moldy.

I would be surprised if your Sago has any healthy roots remaining. If so, there is no point in treating the mold.

Sagos require lots of direct indoor sunlight and soil that is allowed to get quite dry between waterings.

What is the recommended fungicide if I wanted to try?

Most commercial available fungicides have sulfur as the active ingredient. Neem also has some fungicidal properties.
