First time having daylily flowers seem to melt mostly on edge of flower.

That's not melting, that looks like slug and/or earwig damage.

From the black specks on the flower I'd go with earwigs, which eat the surface off the segments.

Thank for the information.
Did find tiny black specks on foliage.
Seems like earwigs feed at night so I would not see them.
Research says stale beer is one way to eliminate them.
Slugs seem to like beer as well.
Appreciate your assistance

mine look like that and it is cucumber beetles, they look like apple green colored lady bugs. Also the high heat/humidity here does for sure 'melt' my daylilies. I have to go out early to see them.
