Hello,
These photos show the recent damage to our Dawn VIBURNAM shrub. This variety is upright, very woody, and is our first spring bloomer, putting out flowers in February. I think the damage is a fungus or some sort of blight. I am unsure how to treat this now - what to spray on it. The one photo shows how this extends right down one whole branch. Just FYI - In April or May, after this bloomed and got all its leaves, I trimmed out any dead branches and new suckers - so this damage is late summer.

What should I do now with this?
Thanks, Craig

Probably need to get an ID on it first as it doesn't look like a verbena. I couldn't find anything with a common name of verbena shrub other than lantana which this does not resemble.

My bad - going too fast and not paying attention to spelling. It is a viburnum.

In 2017 this forum helped identify the shrub. This is from user ViburnumValley,
"OK, I'm going to step in here and vigorously advocate for viburnums.

That's likely a Dawn viburnum (Viburnum x bodnantense 'Dawn'). This is a very early flowering form, and can throw flowers any time during the winter if there's a warm snap. It is quite fragrant, which it inherits from the Viburnum farreri side of the cross.
I can see opposite arrangement pretty plainly on the branch in the upper left hand corner of the second image, as well as elsewhere in that picture.
Prune a branch or two, and bring inside to enjoy the fragrance."
