Does anybody know what are these exotic looking apples. They grow on a shrub size small tree. Snapped in the garden in Herceg Novi, Montenegro.

Calif-Sue is right. It is Pineapple Guava ( Acca Sellowiana), native to Brazil. Apparently temperate Mediterranean climate allows commercial orchards in south of France for instance. It was the first time I ever saw the plant and I was puzzled. Microclimate here in Herceg Novi , Montenegro allows growing a variety of exotic plants. Thank you Suzanne for your prompt answer, and all the others who posted their guesses.

Yes, a Guava.
