I feel pretty dumb. Had no idea this was even happening this year. I check in to the site almost daily and just never saw anything about it this year and figured it went the way of the raffles or something. No problem, but I do enjoy looking at all the photos. Funny, in our current stage of fairly constant isolation, I feel like this is just another 'thing' I am missing out on. I take full responsibility for not paying closer attention, no complaint intended.

In any case, two questions: (a) how/when was the 2020 contest initially posted? I likely don't have something activated on my home screen I suppose. (b) is it still possible to see all the submittals, or has it now been whittled down to just the finalists?

Thanks, and good luck to all who participated. I will not, obviously, be voting this year...

You can see all the entries here (and vote, up until the evening of Dec. 1):

https://garden.org/apps/photoc...

Here is the latest announcement:

https://garden.org/newswire/vi...

And I have my home page set ("Customize Your Garden.org Home Page" on your site preferences) to display Gardening News & Ideas at the top right, so that I see the announcements for photo contests and other things. You can make this change yourself.

Thanks Baja. I'll add News & Ideas to see how that impacts my home page. I've lately pared things down quite a bit - ditched most of my badges and eliminated most 'watched' things. I do have something set to show me all new threads, which usually allows me to pick up on discussions I might be interested in, but must have missed anything having to do with the photo contest. I quickly scrolled through the non-specific plant categories and was pleased to see very few kiddo/pet photos. Since I do have a couple days, I'll spend more time enjoying the beautiful pics. Still about an hour of daylight, though, so out I go.

I don't subscribe to the newsletter. Found it to be more of a daylilly thing, perhaps that's changed. I don't even know how it is delivered - via this site or via email? I'll try it again.

Only during bloom season will you see more daylily photos as the top 10 thumbs up photos added to the database go into the newsletter. I discovered all kinds of gorgeous plants looking at these popular photos from the past week!
It also contains articles, announcements and recent popular threads. You get it by email if you subscribe from your preferences or it's available at the bottom left on any page you are on.
