Today I purchased a rockin blue suede shoes and a Evolution violet salvia. Depending how bad January winter is I maybe getting a Roman red. For variety would really like a white, or pink salvia. I do not usually see those colors in my stores.

I guess if you live in Florida you can still get plants in December. Up here in Iowa we have to wait another four months. I'm already getting a bit of garden fever. At least I have a bunch of small salvias growing in my window and basement.

I am a big fan of salvia guaranitica, so I'd like to try a few more in 2021. I have my eye on the Bodacious and COOL series from Flowers by the Sea. I'll probably wait to see what a local garden center has in April before ordering anything online. Last spring they had Bodacious 'Rhythm & Blues'. I passed on it because it was in a larger, more expensive pot, but I won't pass if I see it again. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll have the new Bodacious 'Smokey Jazz' next year.

I live near Annies and am there once a month. Sometimes in the early morning on a week day when there's few people just to walk around all of her beautiful plants and plantings. Select seeds is a go to for me also. Love their seeds.

Me, I'm starting a lavender sage this year. I got the seeds from Farmacie Isolde. It looked pretty cool.

I just bought a bodacious rhythm and blues. I thought this was just another indigo salvia, but when I saw a bloom at the store it looked like a mix of regular purple and blue. Do not know if it was a light effect, but it looked interesting to me so I bought it. Does anyone else have this plant? In the sun the flowers have a purplish look. I saw almost Eden pictures and doesn't look like it. The flowers have a more purplish tone by the calyxs and indigo towards the ends. Maybe a mislabel?

Someone reported on Rhythm & Blues on a thread this summer... @gardenfish, was it you, or do you remember who had it?

I have also ordered it for spring, along with several others from FBTS for a new dry, lean bed I'm creating:

S. canariensis "Lancelot" (Wooly Canary Island sage)
S. glutinosa (yellow, know as Jupiter's Distaff)
S. sclarea "Piedmont" (Italian clary sage)
S Arizonica (Arizona blue sage)

I've had mixed results ordering live plants, but worse results starting from seed, and I can't find much of a selection at local nurseries, so ... Crossing Fingers!

Eric, our climates are so very different; it will be interesting to compare notes this summer!

Bluebell1, also ordered online from Select Seed, but only ordering plants. We are most likely ordering from same nursery. Will also order seeds online from Swallowtail in late Feb. Impatiently waiting for Annie's to update New Arrivals with plants on my list.

Another great place for plants is Digging Dog. They are near Mendocino. Also mail order. Really nice plants

Bluebell1, I got my Magnolia Inspiration from Digging Dog in 2019. Was looking for one for about 1+ year, stumbled on one there-- online. At same time, saw one in a 1gal pot at an Oregon nursery for $45, with shipping about $40. Digging Dog saved me about $30-35 when shipping included.

Lowe's had an interesting salvia. It was a Sally fun but rather than being bright purple it was like whitish with light purple. Don't know if the flowers were faded, or if it's a different color shade. Look forward to seeing.

A salvia that is nice is the saucy line. They are a hot variety but if you can over winter them in pots well worth it. I had about 13 freeze days this year, but the plants have bloomed all year long for me.

Just bought a may night salvia and was told previously that it was a native plant to florida. Oddly enough some say it's good to zone 8 online and I'm in zone 9. Hope I didn't get jipped out of six bucks.
