If you're new to the swaps here, be sure to watch Dave's tutorial:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

And if you have questions after watching, please ask so we can help you get ready to swap when the swap starts!

In addition to what Val has said already, The thread "Important messages from the host" in JAN 2021 3-day Seed Swap FOR 2019-2021 SEEDS ONLY.
I just wanted to give an extra tip to the new swappers.

Beware of impatiently clicking the same button more than once if the page has frozen up.
More specifically, the 'Confirm and Request this Item' button.

After receiving the notification that you have received your daily tickets (by the bell on the top right lighting up) and refreshing your Wishlist page, you can click the treasure chest icons to bid on an item.

This will then lead you to the Calling Dibs!, where you will click on the 'Confirm and Request this Item' button.

Once you click this button, the page may freeze up for a bit instead of the Congratulations! message popping up (right after you click).

DO NOT PANIC.

This is most likely also happening to everyone else who is dibbing on items.
DO NOT click on the 'Confirm and Request' button again, for a second time.
Ultimately, just wait patiently for the Congratulations! message to pop up or for an Out of Quantity message.

If you click on the 'Confirm and Request' button more than once, then it will result in (what we have been calling) "dud bids".
We call them dud bids because they will count as one of your tickets; however, they will not be truly counted as a claimed listing offer.
(This is because, each participate is only allowed one offer of the same listing. In other words, if there are 3 offers for a listing and you dib on it once, you cannot dib on it again to get a another (second) offer.)
These dud bids will be based on how many times you have clicked the button when the page was frozen. For each bid + dud bid, the offers of the listing will go down and the same number of your tickets will be used. But you will only be receiving one of those offers, even though it may appear as you dibbed for 2 or more on the Recent Events page.

For example, if this Agastache foreniculum had 2 offers and I had clicked the 'Confirm and Request' button twice, once and then a second time when it was frozen, then:

1. Both offers will be taken but I will only be getting one of those two offers. The second offer will be taken out of the swap and just appear in the 'Recent Events' with -- instead of the five stars.
As such (please excuse the Canna as replacement for the Agastache foe.):

2. Two of my tickets will be used because it will count as two offers. (One ticket will be used for the true bid and one for the dud bid.) So ultimately, I will be losing a ticket.

These dub bids usually happen when there are a large amount of swappers in a swap (for instance, 60). However, it could happen from time to time. So please just be aware that this can happen. Thumbs up

I hope everyone has fun and a swap-tastic time! Hurray!
