Today I planned out where to plant each veggie and when to plant it. I realized there are a few veggies I need to get started indoors. I also rounded up all of my old seeds and figured out which new seeds to buy. I'm excited to get started! I think I will do raised beds this year. Had a lot of trouble with slugs last year. I'm thinking if I build raised beds and surround them with gravel, that might keep the slugs at bay!

I have planted lots of seeds to start indoors this year! I typically don't do this and just wait until after the last hard frost. We'll see how it goes...

I have some little sprouts popping up already! So far they include kale, arugula, collards, and garlic! I'm attaching the pic of arugula.

I'm 6b, so I started snapdragons. My previous spring snaps are still alive, they're killing it.

Dumped another container of old coffee grounds, stood there looking at the quack-grass and other sprouting weeds in 37 degree temp. and did my best OOOOOOOHHHHHHH, imitation of LURCH. I tip my hat to you.

I just came in from covering more of my precious flowers that I don't want injured from the frost we will probably get tonight. I literally took the coat off my back and covered up a plant. Then I went back inside and got more covering material. I will be so glad when I get all the covering material picked up tomorrow so the plants can breath and stretch again.

I planted lots of hostas, 2 astilbes, one Columbine, 3 anemones, let's hope they are not the kind that I will regret later on.

I repotted a bunch of plants...

My Strophocactus testudo and Epiphyllum oxypetalum both needed some space. I got them out of their terra cotta and put them out back in 18 inch hanging planters.

I had gotten a pot of Chamaedorea elegans seedlings as a birthday gift to myself. I wasn't going to separate them since they looked so good packed together, but I decided that I want to watch them grow up even more. I kept 5 and the other 27 are planted 3 to a pot. I think I just found more XMas gifts for this year.

I put my Janet Craig Compacta, Lemon Surprise Dracaena, and Warneckii Dracaena in new pots that they desperately needed.

I'm also in the middle of moving all of my potted plants out front into their summer positions. The right side is done, but I'm stumped on the left. I'm currently looking for inspiration.

@hlutzow looking good! Did your baby palms still have the seed hulls attached to the roots?

@gardenglassgems Thank you!

@purpleinopp A lot of them still did. And, some of the seedlings were barely a couple inches tall. I picked the biggest to keep for myself.

Isn't that fun?! The first time I separated a pot of those little guys I was so surprised to find those hulls still intact. Is there a reason why you don't put the trees and palms in the ground? It seems like they would be hardy there. I've seen my potted C. elegans breeze through light frost with no problems, but do you have frost at all?

It isn't my property and the homeowners have denied my request to stick them in the ground. Shrug! I'll wear them down eventually on something.

We used to have mild frost in the winters, but not for 10 years or more.
