I think skunks are adorable ...........from a distance Smiling

they have very tender feet and you might try some rose canes or berry (blackberry /raspberry )cane something with thorns .
Place them in the area you don't want them to go like under a porch etc..

We use to have skunks around here , but I think the resident horned owl got them all Shrug!

We had a black and white cat named Pirate. He used to come with me to the hen house when I collected eggs. So one day, I'm in the (dimly lit) henhouse tidying up and talking to Pirate and it suddenly occurs to me that Pirate is not responding in his usual vocal way. Because Pirate is a SKUNK. I swear I do not remember running down the hill to the deck!

great story

My Dad went out to the hen house one night rather late and something ran up his leg ...............He came to the house without his pants .........didn't even remember taking them off ...
Lucky for him it was our pet raccoon and not a skunk.

I am enjoying a good laugh at the stories Hilarious!

I've had several encounters with wildlife that will forever remain clear in my memory. That actually might be a great topic for a blog post Green Grin!

I often leave the walkout basement double french doors open to let fresh air in when I'm outside that area gardening. Later one night after a day of weeding and the doors being open, I was watching a movie on the big screen TV in the basement rec room. After a bit, I heard what sounded like a possum, racoon, or other similar sized critter rustling under the pool table cover that was bunched up on the floor under the table. I cautiously started lifting the cover with a pool stick, although the distance would do me no good if it was a skunk. Imagine my surprise and grin when all that I uncovered was a small toad. How in the heck could one tiny critter make that kind of noise Rolling on the floor laughing
