i have identified it. It is a hybrid tea rose called "Firefighter'. It has saw toothed leaves, is a shrub, and is quite fragrant, with red blooms that have folds or ruffles on the petals, and yellow stamen. It also has thorns and is around 4 to 5 feet tall. This descriptions, pictures of blossoms, and its fragrance fits this flower with mine perfectly. sorry I could not provide a better picture of the blooms, but the other blooms were too high up for me to reach. Ours is in a large pot. Planted some vinca rosa (periwinkles) and lavender magic tulips with it. Do not know if it was a good idea to do that. But sadly I was not in charge of their haphazard placement. Anyway. The rose is a real trooper. It seems to be surviving so far...
