I have been in the 'regional' thread for my area and decided it was high time to 'wander' around I tip my hat to you. .......... I live in SW Oregon and am primarily a fruit and vegs type gardener ( Hello, my name is Tracy, and I am a tomato addict) ............. We also have a small production flock of hair sheep ( Dorpers and a couple Dorper x ewes) I am lookin' forward to my girl's first lambing, 'should' start around the middle of March

In November I bought my first LGD pup ( Livestock Guardian Dog ) Her name is Txiki Txiki ( say Cheeky Cheeky, it is Basque for 'tiny/small baby') She is 1/2 Spanish Mastiff, 1/4 Anatolian and 1/4 Maremma, 4 1/2 months old and 50# ....Raising her is so very 'different' than the labs or herding dogs we've had....... I live in an area that is heavily populated with predators and have been tremendously 'lucky' in the last few yrs......... We also raised fair hogs for 4H up until last yr...... I suspect we will continue to have the 'occasional' pig, NOTHIN' like 'home grown' ..... I MUCH prefer KNOWING 'what' is in my food.............

Welcome, Tracy.
Ah, the adolescent puppy, not for the faint of heart. We raise Border Collies, allegedly the most intelligent of the breeds and all total nut cases. I wish you much luck with your 'tiny baby'. She has wonderful ears!

Border Collies are a 'tricky' breed........... The ones I have been around, if they didn't have a 'job' ( hardcore ) they tended to be, well,.... OCD? For lack of a better term........ I have attended field competitions and watched in awe what those dogs could do, but would NEVER own one ( don't have 'enough work' for them) She is takin' after her Momma with those ears and 'extra skin' Big Grin I wish I could get some clear shots of her in 'motion', between the 'klutziness' of her age and the 'extra', it's a hoot to watch her Hilarious! ( reminds me a bit of my boy, that ended up bein' 6' 4 1/2", he was all knees and elbows tryin' to run growin' up, 'grace' was NOT his 'forte' Big Grin )
