If I'm honest with myself I have to admit that if you cancel this swap I'm just not going to swap seeds this year. I just don't have the time, mental energy or enthusiasm to do a massive (40+) people swap this year. I liked this one because of the limited membership.
Change the name, same rules except allow species? Sounds good to me. I'll stay in no matter what's decided. @bxncbx This swap allows up to 60 participants and it's possible more people will join before opening day. If the minimum packets for enrollment were to stay at 100 or more, membership might stay low but it's not guaranteed.

I don't care if it changes since I have a lot of "unnamed" stuff especially my morning glories. I do hope it stays with 100 packs or more though. I have to agree with Elena I'm not up to doing an extremely large trade especially if I am not really getting much in return. I'm all for sharing don't get me wrong but it's nice to have the option for better selection.

I'm fine with just one swap. I've actually been considering dropping one of the swaps because I don't know if I will have the time to dedicate to do both.

I'd like to play in either swap format (though probably not in both). I'm a fan of species, too, and I may not be able to qualify for the Mile High Swap if we need 100 named cultivars.
I think we have a good group of traders so far and we can allow some unnamed beauties as well. It would be a shame if loves Great Danes / Ronnie couldn't add in her beautiful morning glories.
So we'll still be required to list a minimum of 100 but they can be species and 25/30 packs of your best unnamed ...sound good?
If anyone has anything they'd like to suggest, please feel free.
Janine,
My understanding from Lisa is that she will host only this one and I am not going to host NFTSRSS this year, so unless you or someone else wants to take it on, there won't be one.
I am fine with this - I have way too many seeds both named and unnamed, so any I can share is great. And will TRY not to pick too many in return, lol (that's what I said in the spring swap...

I was looking forward to joining the NFTSRSS this year. I don't know that I have 100 varieties of seeds this year. Is there somewhere on this site that explains how to host a seed swap?

@antsinmypants good question. I looked around but didn't find an official "seed swap host" tutorial type info. But hopefully poisondartfrog or ishareflowers has the answer you're looking for.

Thea,
If you have never hosted a swap here before, the first step is to send Dave a tree-mail requesting to be added as a swap host. Once you do that and he sets you up, you will have access to the tools to format and post your swap. You will have a new link on the Seed Swap page that will take you to that dashboard.

There is still DND's All seeds swap. Usually a good option for folks with un-named and species seeds but not necessarily a lot of them and not necessarily named varieties.
I love the addition of species plants and some unnamed cultivars. That will help me out a bunch to get to the 100 varieties.
