It looks like a succulent grass or aloe. It was sitting in full sun.

I have found that coffee, tea, and rose can all agree on one thing... water everyday.

The foliage is remarkably similar, but this plant has no bulb like structure. In fact, the entire root system is on top of the soil. I've got the get it buried again.

I don't know succulents well at all but could it be something like Ice Plant (Carpobrotus)?

Why do you consider it to be succulent? It looks mostly grass-like to me.

Edited to remove post script typed by a cat.

That cat must have done a lot of typing!

I was going to tell you it was nut sedge until I looked closer. Rolling on the floor laughing

I actually thought Bulbine was a pretty good thought. I think there are different root systems: bulbs, tubers, thick roots, caudex... But they (I think) are usually summer dormant.

The leaves are thick and juicy in a half-circle shape, flat on the top side and rounded underneath.

I'm leaning towards an aloe, maybe a grass aloe. I'll break a leaf tomorrow and see if I can get a picture.

That is very possible. My picture tomorrow should help decide.

I thought bulbine at first glance too. Hard to tell on image below but to me it looks like there are flat and round sides. It's been a long time since I've grown it and I can't recall how the foliage looked.

Too small for Knifophia...tangerine bulbine or lemon bulbine, it is summer tolerant, ice plant may be too large...

Consensus wins. Bulbine it is. When it flowers, I'll share that as well.

Thanks everyone!
