The foliage is remarkably similar, but this plant has no bulb like structure. In fact, the entire root system is on top of the soil. I've got the get it buried again.
I have found that coffee, tea, and rose can all agree on one thing... water everyday.

I was going to tell you it was nut sedge until I looked closer.
I actually thought Bulbine was a pretty good thought. I think there are different root systems: bulbs, tubers, thick roots, caudex... But they (I think) are usually summer dormant.

I thought bulbine at first glance too. Hard to tell on image below but to me it looks like there are flat and round sides. It's been a long time since I've grown it and I can't recall how the foliage looked.
