Happy New Year!!

In these crazy times I am extra glad I have my sweet Lily Dog as my bestest buddy.

My neighbor is dog sitting her grand dog...wished me a happy new year..
I said bah humbug, 😥💔. She ended up not being able to go to work so invited her and grand dog over. It went really well...helped my broken heart as I played and got puppy dog kisses from Bella the grand dog. She sniffed every inch of the house looking for the dog that should have been here. Puppy dog kisses are so comforting even if they aren't from the one who had owned you for more than a decade.

Ginger, it really is nice getting dog love even if it isn't the one you had for more than a decade.

Should be able to bring Dixie's ashes home on the 10th....in the meantime

Losing a beloved pet is always hard.

That is why every moment I can I take photos/videos of our furry babies. At the end of the day..the sweet memories will comfort us.

This morning I saw in the news, the grand actress Betty White passed away yesterday. She was said to be an animal rights advocate.
May we all be advocates to our pets..as long as it takes..and in time as we lose some along the way..we can rescue some more.

We lost in 2020 a week apart Tikoy and Smokey...now we are back to three furry babies..Jewel, Ellie and Susie. In due time..in due time..our fond memories will help us heal and venture to rescue new ones to love.💕

FaceBook had a picture of Betty White, Chris Issak and a small dog. Another one had her laughing with President Obama. She sure added to our world.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a quick trip to Ca. Tony will take care of things here and work on getting the fencing more dog-proof. It's hard to break the roaming habits of dogs who have been on the street for some length of time. They usually come home for dinner but it's dangerous being out where there is traffic.

It's a great story , who better to write such a beautiful testament than Eugene O'Neill…the sentiments , if our pets could talk. Always tears when I read it too but for many it's also soothing to think how to put the loss in perspective. It means something different to everyone, because I think it's relatable for many of us who just find some solace in the words from the imaginary will from a distinguished pet dog.

Just lost my border collie the black and white …she was trained on the push buttons battery op …she could push one button to ask for cookies , outside, go run.. I keep feeling her presence, hear her collar jingle and even wake early to let her out to chase the deer away. This to will pass. They Always leave such an imprint on my heart. They teach me so much.

To all our pets over the rainbow , thank you for being there for us and all the joy you brought into our lives.

As I sit here in my recliner the feline curled up between my knees will answer that question for you .

Yes … as the saying goes cat's have staff and dogs have friends. My cats guard the garden like a hawk.. keeping small critters at bay. Not one now as I lost my Manx kitty . He adopted me hanging out in the garden every day he made himself right at home, and of course he was always welcome as he befriended all the dogs too. Hung out in the barn with the horses.

Bea, we currently have 2, both adopted backyard strays and now indoor cats. My Golden Retriever passed several years ago at 13 years of age. I still miss him and his companionship.

Our pets are truly a gift 💝 . I miss them every day. It's the memories that makes me smile and helps heal the heart.
