Mopps was sick all day yesterday so ended up at vet this morning. He would not eat 3 meals in a row which is dangerous for a dietetic dog. He was given a shot to settle his stomach and some anti diarrhea pills and did eat a small meal tonight so hopefully feeling a bit better. Hope he sleeps tonight since we were up all night last night.

Wishing the best for Mopps...he's a fighter.when Dixie had a tummy upset I gave her anti nausea meds with MECLIZINE as the main ingredient....recommend by the vet...non prescription...worked great for her.

Poor Mopps.

I remember a news article in mid December last year, about canine flu being rampant now. But this was in Southern Cali..don't know if it has been detected on other areas/states..since some owners maybe placing pets in kennels temporarilly as they travel a few days and unknowingly spread the flu to other dogs when they walk them about.

How's Mops doin .. I have a diabetic horse and we feed a special feed made with beets helps control blood sugar. Hill's diet brand has a well balanced food for diabetic dogs too. I'ts very difficult to control blood sugars in animals , not easy to get blood samples to check for sugar levels.
It's just the ability we learn to read how they are feeling.
Flu shots are available for pets as well as other preventative treatments. Vaccines are available for both H3N8 and H3N2 canine influenza.

Mopps is doing a bit better and only needed to go out once through the night last night. He did eat his breakfast and dinner but skipped lunch,but the 2 he ate are the important meals since he gets his shots with them. Still can tell something is off but the blood work numbers were all in the normal range. Will try to reschedule his eye appointment for tomorrow to next week when hopefully he will be feeling better.
