Yes,Laurie,it is hard to stop!
You know what I went through last year with my orders.
I wound up with 60 new iris last year that I had to dig up sod to make a new bed for.I will have to do the same thing for these new orders.UGH! Digging up established sod gets harder and harder to do as I get older.
I now have 29 new iris I have ordered + 2 known gifts, and there will be others.I still haven't offically ordered my 2 + duplicates from Mariposa.I will have at least 40 + with gifts.I said 20 was my limit this year Rolling on the floor laughing

Wonderful orders all!!!!

Derylin: For probably the last 5 years, I was literally digging up plots in my bermuda grass backyard as the the Iris orders were coming in. Can't say it is the best way to go but I can say all the pain of digging up that grass was long forgotten by the next Spring when I started seeing the bloom show from those new Irises. It will be SO worth it.
If you think there is no more beauty left in the world...Plant a garden!!!

Elsa, you are so right about when all the new iris bloom ,the physical labor to dig and make the beds is forgotten.
However ,several years ago I injured my left shoulder digging up lots of sod,and I seem to keep aggravating the shoulder each year that I have to dig sod up.
Oh well! No pain no gain so to speak!

Breck's has beautiful catalogs. I just wish the quality of their plants matched up with the pictures. Let us know when you receive the order if they look good (or not). Also be sure to make good labels to see if they bloom as advertised, as some of us have received the wrong ones from time to time, though I do not order from them any more. Of course, if they don't bloom the first year, be double-sure regarding good labels.

When I first started gardening, so many years ago, I used to throw the labels away. I thought they detracted from the plants and the overall look. But if you are building a collection, you will need good labels.

Will do. I've had pretty good luck with most of my Brecks orders. Their lily bulbs have been good, the worse plants so far for me was their tall phlox plants. Bought a combo package and every one was doa. Planted some bearded iris's last fall hope they come up.

Bulbs are one thing at Brecks, irises are another. Save your money for iris growers.
