Between the two threads we made over the past couple weeks concerning all the server updates I've done, there were around 650 replies and I read them all and to the best of my ability responded to them all.

I wanted to post a new thread to say that as far as I know, I have dealt with all open issues. If you previously posted an issue that I didn't respond to, it wasn't intentional and just got overlooked. So please, if anyone has any open issues with anything on the site, please let me know.

I just came across this. In GigiPlumeria's post in Sedum and related Succulents Chat, 5th photo down... when I click on that the enlargement box shows up but the photo itself is missing from it. The other photos in that post show up fine.

Dave, not sure if this is necessarily an open issue, but shouldn't the text reading "Your vegetable planting guide for
Rapid City, SD"
Just be "Your vegetable planting guide for Rapid City, SD", without the paragraph break?

Forgive me if this is too minor of an issue to be reported. Just looks a bit weird to me.

I used to be able to search using incomplete search terms... i.e., if I searched for "Camellia retic" it would find "Camellia reticulata". Now I have to type in the whole word, so if incomplete search terms could be enabled, that would be lovely. Crossing Fingers!

Also, I just encountered a new error message when I posted 2 old plant illustrations of Reseda odorata and Narcissus minor:
"Caution: This image has already been proposed to be imported into the database. You might be accidentally submitting a duplicate."

I guess all old illustrations now look alike to whatever process that is supposed to detect duplicates? I can ignore the messages if the program can't be tweaked, but if other images now look like duplicates to the program, some people might be discouraged from uploading new photos if they encounter an error message?

ETA: I just got that same duplicate error message when adding a new photo which is not an old illustration. I added all 3 images today (after midnight EST) & got an erroneous error message for them all.

I have the same issue, I typed strings of banana or common names are not searchable anymore. Key words search need to be enabled again.

Thumb of 2022-02-20/GigiPlumeria/249101

Updated: this will show up with correct spelling "String of banana"

Is it just me? Or recently popular photo used to change after a weekly newsletter has been issued? Not complaining, I like seeing my mini-Phal, just curious.

I think it's that each photo can be on the "recently popular photos" list for seven days. As soon as those seven days are over, usually they will be replaced with a newer photo. At least that's what I've observed.

Yes, I think that's what I observed too. I like them there either way, maybe mine hasn't been over 7 days.

With every photo I try to upload to the database I get a caution message about it being a duplicate entry. But it's not.

I tried to take a screen shot but it's not working right now for some reason.

I think we're all seeing that error message; Gigi posted a screen shot above after I reported seeing it. Hopefully a fix is in the works. Crossing Fingers!

Dave - I think the icon issue I previously reported is particular to my main desktop PC (rather than a site issue). It's not occurring as frequently now and I haven't seen it when I try accessing the site from my work computer. I'll try to work out what's going on with my desktop PC and if anything stands out, I'll let you know.

Lol, sorry for the previous grammar in this post. I re-read it and realized it was nigh impossible to understand! Kudos to Gigi for even translating it. 😆

Sorry to come in at the end here, I was hoping this would resolve itself.

In the new database photos on my homepage, the photos extend beyond the right border when I tap them. They are fine in thumbnail. It's not a huge deal, but I wonder if they should do this. Issue is on my phone, not laptop.
