Cosmopolitan, FFO:


I woke up on this beautiful May Day to the first bloom of the season on one of my very favorite plants.

May blooms. I am so excited. I have color on a scape finally. Lillians David Phillips.

I am also excited because two seedlings I rescued from Jessie and Terahs garden are blooming for the first time I have a picture on the on I am most excited about

It's been three years. Scape is thick and taller than the fans. The other cross is Dora's First in Line x( Tal x Southern Dazzle) or as we know it N-1
No picture yet. But everyone.

I had a lot of other things I wanted to get started on today, but because it was such a cloudy day and no rain, I had to put everything off and just take photos.
Some of these are new first ever in the garden, some are first blooms this season and others are just photos I could not resist taking today.

I'll stop there, I took over one hundred photos this morning, the lighting was so good.

After reading Diggerofdirt'a post I will post this photo I took of 'Lillian's Terah George',
not blooming yet, but the scape is the most impressive one in the entire garden.

May Day is great with everyone's pictures. Always liked Nazca Hummingbird, and now can add Endowed With Beauty.

Hotatlanta catches my eye, along with Rings of Triton, and so many others. The form on Snow Crystal with it's wide ruffles is perfect for instance. And so another season begins................Maryl

Dynamite Returns, FFO:


It's not quite fully open, but I'm pleased with the bloom. This plant did not bloom at all last season, so I stuck it in this planter where it seems really happy. It's covered with buds.

I beat a rain shower to get this FFO of Minstrel's Fire [Salter, 2002]. Supposed to be early-mid bloom season but quite early here.

Lots of nice blooms to admire! Larry, I have to agree about Hotlanta.

It's just Stella de Oro but it starts my season in good form.

The thrips are happy.

Both photos taken this evening. Patsy a bit faded, but Lightning Round looks every bit as good late in the day as first thing in the morning. A winner.
