I have this daylily. It's my first bloom season for this one. It's also my first daylily ever, so I'm not sure what to expect from this genus. I purchased mine from an NGA member and am pleased with their blooms so far. They are setting multiple stalks with multiple bloom pods, though the blooms are not terribly large (yet). They provide a wonderful splash of brilliant color to a bed that is otherwise mostly liriopes & all green plants. I think I'm going to really like these but will have to see them through multiple seasons before passing final judgement on the daylily genus and this particular cultivar.

Peggy, this one is a small daylily; don't expect your blooms to get much bigger. Blooms are listed at 3.5 inches. Your plant may take another year or so before the scapes reach their listed height of 18". Still a small plant, though--ideal for the front of the bed.

I have had mine for two seasons. The first season the plant had scapes and blooms and then suffered an unfortunate accident. Along with Whatchamacallit, it is planted close to my driveway, and I ran over both of them. D'Oh! I lost all the scapes last year. Sad

This year the plant bloomed, and the color is just delightful--like a tropical drink. I am also happy to report that it has shown no rust thus far. I am hoping for rebloom on this one--we'll see.

Bahama Butterscotch was one of the 1st daylilies I started with. I have always heard that daylilies need to be divided, or they will stop blooming well. Mine probably went 20 years before i divided, it was a massive daylily when I did divide it into 5 still large clumps, and gave a bunch away. Mine is taller, maybe 22 to 24" here. Dependable heavy bloomer, I have gotten some rebloom from it, but not often. It is planted in the worst soil in my garden, far away from a garden hose so it gets totally neglected. Still does great. I do wish the flowers were bigger, but it makes up in other ways.

Bahama Butterscotch has done well in my TX garden where it has resided since 2014. I have seen up to 20 buds with 4 way branching but typically less. There were 9 fans before I split it for local club sale a couple of years ago. Agree with comments that it is typically taller than registered, up to 28" one year and also up to 4" diameter. It is pollen and pod fertile in my garden. Blooms around 15 May +/- a week depending on the weather. Survived the Great Freeze of 2021 albeit under snow cover during the sub-zero temperatures. Edit to add that I have never seen rust on this plant.
Life is better at the lake.

I grew this one for many years, but sold out of it about 9-10 years ago. It was a good small flower. Some of Liz Salters little ones perform in less than stellar fashion in this climate, but this one was perfectly hardy here. The color made it visible from a distance!
