Certainly looks nice in the pictures by @blue23rose and @floota. Maybe they'll tell us more!

Okay Pat, @Hortaholic... you wanted to hear more and have I got it! Smiling

I ordered Flutterfest from Ginny Pearce in 2016 and it is a wonderful, quick clumping plant, going from a double fan to well over 20 fans in 6 years. It should begin blooming any day now and has lots of buds on it. If you want to see what Ginny's comments are about Flutterfest, here is a link to it on her site. http://www.gardenpathperennial...

7/3/2019 - Branching and bud count is very good. It is not unusual to see 4-5 way branching with 30+ bud count. I've never seen rust on it.

8/9/2020 - branching in 2020 was the same. I remember one scape had more than 50 buds. On Ginny's website, she lists 5-way branching with 25 buds, but in 2012 she got 8-way branching with 42 buds.

I think the name fits it perfectly! In 2019, Flutterfest bloomed from July 3 until at least August 1. In 2020 it bloomed from July 8 until August 9, with many days producing beautiful bouquets. In 2021, it didn't perform quite as good, blooming from 7/1/21 until 7/18/21.

7/29/20 - 17 days later! And based on my pictures, every day in between was like this.
Thumb of 2022-06-27/blue23rose/f085b7

While it did not have the long run in 2021 that it did in 2019 and 2020, the next two pictures show that the blooms hold up well throughout the day. And the 3rd picture from 2021 shows that it holds up well after a rain.

7/7/2021 - 8 AM - this picture also shows the height of Flutterfest compared to others in my garden. Flutterfest is registered at 30". I've never measured it, but that seems about right and the blooms usually sit slightly above the foliage. Others in this picture for comparison: Far right, Vitamin C is registered at 44", Law and Order (purple at left in back) is registered at 38", Breaking the Rules (blush pink to the left of Flutterfest) is registered at 30", but it has always been taller than that for me.

7/7/2021 4 PM - same day as picture above, 8 hours later and looking good.

7/10/2021 - after a rain. Overcast days really brings out the color in it.

Even though it is not described as a bitone, there are times when I think it looks like one.

This may not be the flashiest of blooms and is one that can be easily overlooked in a lineup, but it definitely puts on a show and is worth having in the garden. I just can't say enough good things about this wonderful daylily!

6/27/2022 - Edited to add that I just got back from the garden and FFO is today on Flutterfest and I counted 16 scapes!

You worked for that one, Vicky. That was a heck of a post.

I agree with what you are saying, Vicky. I don't think I've had a big 40+ bloom scape up here, but I've definitely been in the 20's for bud count, which is where it is registered. I also get the registered scape height, for what that's worth.

The blooms are lovely and kind of unique in color to me, but when it sends up 10 or 12 blooms, it's a head turner, and probably why there are so many clump shots of this one. In my opinion, it's at its best when it's loaded wtih blooms. Fortunately, it does that a lot.

And one more thing about the color, I think it's pretty versatile. You could highlight it with any bright color. I think it can really make its neighborhood pop.

Hi Vickie @blue23rose, Wow! What a great report! Thank you! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป I tried to give you an acorn but it's not cooperating. I think I have some!

Now the challenge will be getting Flutterfest after people read about its wonderful performance!

Edit PS and while this message was waiting to be sent, Tim added his plaudits. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Gonna have to search fast!

Whistling Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

I think between Vickie's and Tim's evaluations .... a lot more people will be looking for this one! Lovey dubby Thanks to you both for the great evaluations!!!! Don't you wish all daylily cultivars had such a terrific evaluation? Thumbs up

Added: Looking at the link Vickie posted from Ginny Pearce's website, the children of this one look mighty nice, too! Looks like it is a wonderful parent to seedlings as well.
