I thought that I had saved a list that had been compiled of the true names of Lily Auction sellers. I had even made a contribution to the list but right now no amount of searching in my files or on this forum is turning up the list. Does anyone have such a document that can be shared here? Thanks!

I was looking for said list also. It use to be a "sticky".

This is the one I remember with names. It's a long thread with lots of auction chat mixed in.

I decided to email "support" at LA to see if a list of sellers' names is available. Mike answered quickly but alas, there is no such list due to privacy concerns. So, if registered users want such a resource it will have to be independently created. If only I or someone else had saved the list that was put together a couple of years ago!

There may be some duplicates here, but based on the list Larry just pointed us to, here are a few that I check fairly regularly in addition to some of those on that listing:

Yenok_daylilies and/or Yenokseeds - Yenok

I know this will sound very naive, but why would we need a list of who the people are? Is it due to fear a bad seller may come back with a new differently-named account? Or is it that a known person with a big reputation might get more attention? For the latter, I am aware that Rich Howard (aka Rich) seeds go for a lot of money, even for his more mundane crosses (mostly they are not mundane - I am a fan) that from an unknown seller would probably not see a single bid.

Is that it, so we can match reputation with seller, and bid accordingly?
Sorry for my confusion. I am sure the real reason is there in front of my nose, but I just cannot see it yet.

I like to have a list of the people so I can look at their web sites, if they have one, and get a feel for how they grow the plants and see if it fits my type of growing. Sometimes just having a name and a phone number can be reassuring, even more so a voice on the other end.

OK, that makes sense. I was thinking only of seeds, but finding out the location/zone of plants being sold would be important, if not otherwise mentioned in the description.

Still, though. Each item listed you can click on the "contact seller" button to ask a question. I have done so before to clear up confusing descriptions.

This has actually happened a few times, however there are other reasons. A seller's name is not exactly secret information, as it's provided to their successful bidders.

Regarding their reputation, you can get a general idea from the seller's feedback, although that may be somewhat slanted to the good side.

Rich has been around for awhile so too is Gramps our own Ed Burton, Steve our own Ahead. Runningfox Claudia is another fave of mine. She just downsized her operation and moved to FL. Some buyers like to stick to the same crowd. I will give anyone a shot if they have something of interest to me. I bidded the most that I have ever bidded on seeds and still lost the auction on Ahead seeds yesterday. Now is a hot time on the LA. I really shouldn't be buying seeds

Well, it looks like Yenok is going to be blocked from the Lily Auction by the 23rd, so please exclude him from consideration on my recommended list above...

Does anyone know why Yenok is being blocked? I got plants from him last year and was pleased with what he sent. Even though one was mislabeled, he quickly sent the right plant---and let me keep the other one.

Greg, I received a message from Mike Longo on the Lily Auction yesterday saying that Yenok's two accounts will be blocked as of 5 pm on the 23rd. He indicated that he had tried his best to resolve the matter with Yenok and had regrettably come to the conclusion that resolution with him is not possible.
