this is the second day I have been unable to access the Cubits site
Is it down or do I have a problem here?

Just looked myself and it says server down.

Dave is there any idea when Cubits will be back up?

The server hosting cubits crashed with a nasty error yesterday and I learned about it this morning. I got it back up but I am sure it's going to fall again at some point.

Cubits has been running all by itself for a very long time, and it's definitely on the way out. Make sure that if you're using cubits that you download what you want, and make connections with your friends so you don't lose touch after it goes away. I can't say how long it'll stay online for you but it will be measured in days or weeks, certainly not months.

So sad to see Cubits go! Thank you, Dave, for getting it back up for those who may want to save their info.

Dave, thank you so much for getting Cubits up again, even temporarily! I'm part of an active chat group there, and we'd already made a Plan B for continuing but hadn't archived anything yet. We're busy doing that today!

BTW, I think you should consider a "buy a coffee" link for your admin team. I appreciate this being a free site, but it would be nice to be able to give you something other than an acorn.

Trying to think that through... Maybe it should be anonymous so nobody accuses you of playing favorites or taking sides on an issue because somebody made a donation..

I have such good memories of Cubits. It was a time of joy, exploration, and unfettered freedom from DOG (Dave's Old Garden). I'll miss the Spotlight Who's Who interviews most of all. They offered deep insight into the lives of Cubits (and NGA) members.

Zuzu I so enjoyed getting to know Sharon when I left Dave's garden to join Cubits.

I wonder if those "spotlight" interviews could find a home here on NGA; I haven't looked at them in a long time but I would guess many of them are members here (maybe?).
