I noticed today that I have a pair of irises that arrived togethers and that planted next to one another that have almost perfectly round holes cut into several blades. Should I take some sort of action? They don't look like borer spots that I see in photos, so I am bit puzzled about what is happening. (Also, I am in zone 6 and it is still rather cool here. Insect activity is low, but getting started, depending on the day.)

Thanks for the look and advice!

Slugs & snails leave holes in leaves and blooms. Snail/slug bait, or a small dish of beer both inhibit snail activity. Crushed eggshells around the plant also can help.

I'm not sure what caused the round holes, but the ragged edge on the right-most leaf (left edge) looks like iris borer damage.

Agree with Leslie on slugs and snails... have them all the time here.

Sluggo is an organic, pet-safe, and effective bait.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
