I love it when someone is cleaning out a garden and giving away "stuff." A few years back my friend who owns a big mobile home park told me to clear out a garden around one of the homes because the elderly woman had moved out to live with her daughter. She was an enthusiastic gardener, lots of plants that he wanted out. Not a lot of different things, but what she had, she had lots. It was great!
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."

Isn't it fabulous. Hey, I walked by there this morning and they hadn't started on the sod yet and I saw a bunch of Rain Lilies up and blooming. Guess what? I rushed home with Roxxie Roo and got DH to take me back down there and I got almost everything that was left. Lots of RL and Mondo grass. I left a few.

Last evening I called the guy and told him I had cleaned the weeds out of the large container in the backyard. He asked me if I wanted it and I said yes. DH and I went down to get it. It had 2 colors of Mums and some French Marigolds in a separate hanging pot. Today the Mums went into the ground, the French Marigolds didn't have much life left in them, but I put them in the ground also. They even had a seed pod on them that was dry for the picking. Bonus! The large container is terracotta colored, but plastic. It will do for keeping rabbits out of whatever I grow in it.

Yesterday my friend Barb brought me another Hamelia Patens and some Milkweed plants. I put the HP in the front garden and the Milkweed plants in that large container. I will add some more plants to the pot tomorrow. I am pretty much worn out today.

Here is what I did so far today: Walked Roxxie Roo, dug out 30 or so Mondo Grass and 29 or more Rain Lilies and just as I started walking home with them here comes the lady who told me Pete was giving the plants away. She was a bit tiffed that I had gotten all the plants, but I told her when she gets ready she can come to my house and I'll give her plenty to put in her garden. She was ok with that so I brought them home and planted them.

I had to cut strips of old screen to shore up the Wattle Fence to keep those baby bunnies out, so I finished doing that project, and then I made a little pot of Morning Glories for my friend Barb with its own little heart shaped trellis for them to climb on. We took them over to her after lunch and she didn't want them, so I brought them back.

Then I went to my neighbors and bleached and cleaned out her doggie swimming pool and refilled it with clean water. I planted some grass plugs on her bank this morning, so I watered them in also.

I forgot to mention that I made a Lemon Loaf before I left the house this morning and watered all my grass plugs. It's best to water before that wicked sun comes up and I had half an hour to get that accomplished. I am tired. My hands are tired and sore.

This is the Palm tree that I just picked up yesterday. Ain't she a beauty?
