I used to have seeds for a morning glory that color that grew "wild" in my friend E's backyard. I don't have the seeds anymore and not sure if the MG still grows in her backyard. I think it was a very old variety called "Grandpa Ott."

You are correct! Ding, ding, ding, ding! You win the prize. It is Grandpa Ott. I've had this growing in my garden for 6 years. I gave some seeds to one of my neighbors and now it is prolific at her house. She loves it, I love it, and I have a huge container of it growing up a trellis.
