This came up in some garden soil that came from another garden, Does anyone recognize this seedling?

Could be a petunia.

The leaves are not hairy like my other petunia, but it could be, I just brought it inside to put under the grow light for winter since we are getting freezes at night here in Montana. If it does not get mad and die because of that, I will wait to see what it becomes. Thanks for the answer.

Forget me not? Myosotis?
Just a guess.
Plant it and they will come.

Interesting... The garden where this soil came from, I think this flower might have been there in the past, time will tell. I do not remember that garden having any petunias, but I might be wrong. Thank you.

These leaves have rounded end and single central vein, The susan seedlings I found online had a pointed end and multiple veins, but time will tell if it survives the replant and move inside, it is not happy right now, wilting a bunch. I took as much soil as I could with it but it was in a slew of snapdragons in that pot. Thanks for the input, I will show pix if it survives and blooms.

Might be a rudbeckia... I also thought possible petunia or forget me not...
Of course, there are the weedy borages like Hackelia...

Unfortunately, the Montana climate is so much different from around here that I can't rule stuff out based on the season...

Around here, most of our blackeyed susan and forget me not would have already played out from the heat...

The leaves look to fuzzy (to me) to be Talinum (jewels of opar).

Our season was so unorganized this year, we often get late sprouting of everything so using when and how they grow is kind of out the window, especially this year. I am thinking that I saw forget me nots in the garden where the soil came from so am betting on that. It has recovered from the transplanting so we will all get to see in a month or two. I will leave this thread open until it blooms. It is happily sunning itself in the center of my indoor garden under the grow light. Thanks for the response.

When I spoke about the plants being confused with this year's weather.....This is my Bridle Veil bush which bloomed profusely this last spring, it is now changing color for the fall and also has one sprig with 8 blooms on it. How confused is that?

Not as confused as the picture a coworker showed me, appears to be a cherry in full bloom this week!
Plant it and they will come.

I think mine are telling me that we will have the same winter as in the year I stood behind this pile of snow. We got the tractor ready and the abodes too.
