I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Plant Identifier
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Critics Choice')
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'My Friend Charlie')

Well I dug these two up and I don't know which was which where they were planted, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the root colors are by chance?

I am not sure, but I think root colors are more a product of the health of the plant and the conditions of the soil they grow in. I have dug plants and noticed that some of them do have an orange tint to the roots, but I have never thought of that as being a trait linked to a particular cultivar, but I do suppose it could possibly be.

I hate it when I do that!

I dug My Friend Charlie in August, and the roots were the normal whitish color. As Larry stated, I don't know if that is the way they grow for everyone in other areas...

Okay thank you! That helps me alot. Yes, some dl I have noticed do have orange roots, some have skinny roots, and some have really fat roots.
