My tubers are from dahlias that I grow. Some of these are from my own seedlings and the rest from named varieties I have bought and grown. I live in too cold a climate (this fall is an anomaly usually by 9/20 we have a hard frost) and they have to come out of the ground every year as our winters are too cold to safely stay in the ground.
I'm interested in seed collecting from the dahlias as they aren't true to the parents (seed or pollen) and you have a unique bloom in the end. And a bunch of tubers in the pile come from those new seedlings. I've been happy to see the tubers haven't been a stingy offering. And the bees evidently did a nice job dropping pollen on the right blooms as I had some pretties.
I've set up my blog to primarily follow that journey of saving seed and growing new dahlias amongst my named varieties. Maybe kind of boring to cover one family of flowers to some, but it's a place to leave my thoughts and photos on my journey of exploring.
I hope this answer helps!
