There is a lot to celebrate in January beyond the holiday on Monday. Houseplant Appreciation Day was on the 10th and so was my day, Peculiar People Day. National Pie Day is the 23rd and National Seed Swap Day is on the 27th this year.

Let's celebrate only 10 months to the Mile High Swap, and official Rubber Ducky day today, just in time for the games to begin.
I'll tag all of the members so far this time just because all are not checking the threads yet and new folks may not be aware of the games.
All members of Mile High Seed Swap 4, including newbies, oldbies, hostessess and donors are eligible to enter one guess anytime between now and midnight tomorrow night.
How many different seeds have I sown in 2024 so far? I have them logged in my germination book and I won't add any after posting this.
The person who comes closest without going over wins.

The prize this time? 25 seeds of Diasca Diamonte, Lavender Pink. Photo from Pase Website

I'll announce the winner Monday and will mail to the winner right after you treemail me your address. This is one with similar requirements and timing as Viola species, and blooms most heavily in cooler temps in spring and picks back up in fall, so you need it early.

I have no clue, so I'll just say 24.
(That's twice as many as I started so far this month.)

Wow, I'm so behind!

I have put one packet of seeds in a paper towel. 😂

Good luck!

57? If this is correct, let our scrumptious prize go to the next one closest to me

73? If so, you're ahead of me, because I've only done 60 so far. In light of potential freezes next weekend, that's all I'm doing until afterward, as I will have a lot of flats to move onto the screened in porch. I'll pick tomatoes and ripen them in paper bags, too, and the bunch of bananas will come down and ripen indoors as well. Florida is up and down right now, but we should see a turn toward spring by the end of the month.

Some of you have been very very busy. The winner this time is @bxncbx, whose guess of 50 was closest without going over.

Thumb of 2024-01-15/poisondartfrog/6270f0
Can barely read that myself.

So bxncbx, send me your address.
But let's not end it here. Let's play one more. Everyone in the swap is eligible to guess; of the 53 different types of seeds sown, how many have germinated as of this morning? To make your guess, consider that these seeds have been sown from January 1 through January 12 on various days, and that 5 of them were wintersown. Also, about half of them are seeds that are at least 4 years old, which this year I've promised to plant or get off the pot. Post your answer to the thread by noon tomorrow.

The prize for this one will be 5 commercial pellets packed for 2024 of Petchoa, Caliburst Yellow. https://www.perishablenews.com...

Have a nice MLK day. I have some catching up to do today. JLee, 82 is a lot, lol. But first I have to count what's germinated as of right now.

Given your zone and the weather I've seen in the country lately, I'll go with 7. But I kinda hope I'm wrong, that you have more sprouting, and also, I already have the prize seed! Big Grin It would be fun to be right, but if I am, those can go to the next closest.
