Just decided since I had a shot from the backyard, I would update this thread to 2024
Not a lot going on in Lynda's backyard these days with the cold (for Southern California), overcast skies et. al. But these guys just shine on through. I believe they are Infinity Impatiens

Good start of the thread Ted! These are invasive here, Mother of Thousands, but the blooms are gorgeous and long lasting.

Ted, great new thread! Somehow the "2023" didn't register with me!
Everybody likes Impatiens and the Kalanchoe is super showy! Lovey dubby

Around here it is certainly Winter, I took a walk along the nearby river this afternoon.

Beautiful scene Ursula, I am surprised your river is not frozen.

Alice, @ardesia gave me seeds for Dwarf Johnson's Cherry tomatoes back in the fall. Today I harvested all these (except the biggest one) off the two plants I have going. Dave tells me this is not a stable hybrid dwarf tomato, so I'm getting cherry-type fruit from one plant and small, pink lobed slicers from the other. Doesn't matter, they're both good, vigorous plants and the fruit are tasty. Will be sweeter when they start getting some more consistent sun, but still good flavor.

Moved my Ceratostemmas (and a couple special philos and Anthuriums) into the house for the threat of the hard freeze, its 70F today so I took them back out to the greenhouse. Ceratostemmas are scandent plants that are related to blueberries. They are actually called tropical blueberries. They do make a small edible fruit after they bloom

Yeah, but I can't keep things in the house. They don't do well. We like it cool in the summer (cool=dry) and really warm in the winter (also = dry) so my sansivierra are my star hoyuseplants LOL

I got a 'bonus' packet of zinnia seeds from Baker Creek with my last order. They're not something I regularly grow, but these looked interesting so I started some. They're blooming in miniature - I'm assuming this is from the lack of sun! Usually the plants are 2ft high before they start blooming but these are less than a foot, and the flowers are also very small. They're also not all the same, even though the seed packet said they were a hybrid 'Zinderella Peach'. Hmm, not a stable one, for sure! Anyway they will be fun for my grandkids to pick when they're here in a few weeks.

This is what they're supposed to be, only bigger:

And these are some various other shades, and forms from the same seed packet.

When these nasturtiums bloom, I really do wonder why I bother struggling to grow orchids. They're such gorgeous flowers, so easy and floriferous. This variety 'Alaska Red Shades' has beautiful variegated foliage, too.

My rampant vine of Thunbergia 'Spanish Eyes' is not deterred by the chilly weather and lack of sun. Blooming abundantly in yellow, orange and reddish. All on one plant.

Calendula 'Snow Princess' bloomed well into July for me last year, but doesn't mind the cold, either.
