I bought this one from Tranquil Gardens in 2022. When I visited them, it was one of the first blooms open, in early June. It was a big, striking orangey yellow bloom with a nice fragrance. I don't have very many early Daylilies so I'm trying to expand that range.

My plant bloomed that summer ( 2022) from June 19-July 5 with 8 blooms. By October it was still 2 fans.

In 2023, OP started the season with the same two fans but I never got a bloom. However it expanded to four fans by October.

I like the color and simple form on this. It's old fashioned but in a clean, attractive way. Judging by what I saw, I think it will be a powerhouse in a few seasons, providing bright, cheery color at a time long before most Daylilies are open. I hope to see flowers this summer!

We've grown 'Orange Prelude' for decades. I'm sorry I don't have a picture to share.

It makes a well-behaved clump that's a bright spot in the very early daylily season. The flowers bloom above the foliage just high enough to show off. One of the earliest large flowers, it makes a nice color splash when few other daylilies are flowering yet. Until something "better" comes along to fill that slot we'll continue to grow it.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I purchased Orange Prelude in 2020. I was standing at the top of a hill overlooking the daylily field of Fieldstone Gardens in Vassalboro Maine, Orange Prelude was the brightest and stood out among all. It has formed a nice clump in the short time I've grown it.
