We have peaches covering our kitchen island, and just picked a half bushel last night. Even then, the birds have ruined hundreds - they don't even finish one but go on to the next. Still lots of small ones on the tree for them.

Picked peaches last week with my mom (a RIDICULOUS amount) and we made jam, pie, and cobbler... your peaches look yummy... what are your peach plans??

I have no idea what our tree is either - planted it 12 years ago. We are eating our fill of them daily, and today started freezing some in a light syrup.
Safeway has beautiful blueberries for 99 cents this week. We've been freezing those too to add to pancakes later.

All looks yummy. I've been buying the Utah peaches and can't get enough!
Harold. How do you freeze the BBs? Bag them up? Lay on cookie sheet and freeze then move to bags?

Sorry, just saw this. We just wash them, pat dry and stick in freezer bags. You can spread them on cookie sheets and freeze then put into bags. Just a little more time & effort.

Thanks Harold. Next year I'll attempt to freeze some of the Utah Peaches I buy at A.J.s and Whole Foods. Just a few to begin... just an experiment.

Wow that is great to get so many peaches! I just bought some on a trip to Texas. Mine here in NM froze this year. They are my favorite. I prefer to use ascorbic acid (sometimes called Fruit Fresh) that I buy at the grocery or Walmart to make a syrup to freeze my peaches in. They don't brown and taste really good that way.

I really want a peach tree- and so would the stupid birds that would also covet my tomatoes and figs and mosquito fish, for that matter. But I digress. I'd really love to have a peach tree, what varieties do well in the tucson area?

Ray seems to have a handle on the various fruit trees. Can't remember if he has a peach. Have to check.
