Over the years our local farmers' mkt has moved a few times. It's currently in the parking lot of Barton Creek Square mall on Saturday mornings. I didn't get pics of every booth. Some had too many folks standing in line to get close enough for a photo. If you're in town, it's a good place to stop for quick breakfast. 'Should have lots more produce in late spring.
There were lots more booths of honey, jewelry, specialty drinks, jams and jellies....and more. Not many tomatoes yet, but the ones there were expensive! Quite a few booths offered samples too.
Save some of those tomatoes and enter them in the Plant Show June 3rd! The Garden Club of Austin has a plant and flower show June4/5 at Zilker. It's really a lot of fun and not "stuffy" or anything like that. You also get to see what other gardeners are growing and having success with.
Well, did you get to the Farmers' Mkt?? We ran errands, bought stuff we didn't need, and are heading out to dinner.
I can't cook tonight....I have a bone in my leg.........
Planning to howl at the moon tonight!
We did! Took along one of the pups and she tasted the treats. Got some of the Reggiano Garlic bread, some eggs, and a cinnamon roll from Phoenix Rising.
I want to be on the back porch watching that same moon with some wine in my hands.
We were able to see the moon rise, but too late to get a good photo of it with the skyline in the foreground. It was an awesome sight. DH commented that he could imagine the Mayans looking up centuries ago to see it and not knowing what it meant. Dinner took forever, and we had to see moon from Bee Cave Rd driving home.
I'll have to wait till it happens again in 18 yrs. Wonder if the nursing home will let me stay up past 6PM to photograph it then??????
lol! I think as long as you don't wander the grounds too much you'll be fine.
No mushrooms for us! I only eat them sometimes, and DH doesn't really like them at all. Besides, it looks like the dirt I bought (potting soil. ha!) is made of mushroom compost. Why do I think so? Well, just about every time I water, the next morning there's a nice bumper crop of shrooms in the planter. You should see the ones today!
That means your soil is really healthy!!! Mushroom compost is great stuff!
I heard this morning that the next close moon will be 2016. Maybe I won't need permission to leave the facility...I should still be kicking my heels by then!`
