With Dave's permission I am hosting an Acorn Auction. You will be bidding on a medium flat rate USPS Box. I'll pay the shipping.

You'll be bidding with Acorns.

What you will be getting is as many plants, things like bulbs, rooted cuttings, unrooted cuttings etc. that I can fit in the box. Most of the contents will be a mystery but it will most definitely contain the following:

Amorphophallus konjac
Passiflora x allardii
Colocasia esculenta 'Mojito'
Colocasia esculenta 'Coffee Cups'

The Auction starts NOW and will end Saturday at 5pm.

Every day I will post the highest bid so far, around 5pm.

Bidding starts at 5 Acorns.

To make a bid, T-mail me with the title Auction Bid in the subject line and how many Acorns you bid for the box.

If you would prefer the bidding to be public let me know as we can do that too.

There are pros and cons to identifying the highest bidder. In a real auction, everyone can see whose hand is being raised.

This is a great idea; I wish you thought of it when I had more than 35 acorns in my 'bank'. I will watch and enjoy cheering everyone on.

Thanks .. I'm hoping it will do two things, encourage people to participate more with ideas and pictures to get acorns and to get more acorns myself!

LOL, I had a very large greenhouse many years ago so I know what you mean. I'm slowly downsizing because I don't have the time to care for so many plants anymore. We travel when my husband is off during the summer and when he retires in two years we will be away even more ... so I've been giving plants to family and friends and trying real hard not to buy more.
