I was recently at Walmart (I KNOW BAD!) and had to rescue two rose plants (clearance for $4). They were the only ones out of the bunch that had visible growth.
One is a "tea" rose and the other is a large rose. Do I need to plant these in full sun? Do they need a trellis? Can anyone give me tips? What about insects etc. I should watch for?
I have knock out roses growing and they are easy, are these just as easy?
I am enjoying the 75-80 degree temps in NY today! GORGEOUS out!
Hi, Josh! Do your rescued roses have any sort of tag or label saying who they are. That's a question, but the question mark key isn't working. If one is really a tea, it may find your climate a bit cold. They will likely do best in full sun, but how easy they will be to grow will be governed by who they are. Tell us more about them if you can.

with PPal - would love to help but can't really give good answers without knowing who the roses are. Do they have names? Sometimes you'll find that they may have a little metal tag near the base of the rose. If they have names on them, then we can be a lot more definitive as to where & how to plant them. But, for the most part, I'm gonna say probably about 95% of roses need full sun (5-6 hours minimum every day). Trellises aren't necessary for most roses other than climbers, and even then they're not necessary.. you can train them to go up other things other than a trellis (trees, houses, etc). Or you can post a picture and maybe we can help define who they are that way too?
