Can you help ID any of these ? They are in the Master Gardener Demo Garden.

I see a Xanthosoma jacquinii lineatum (lower middle), a few Colocasia esculenta varieties (upper and back), and one that looks like the Colocasia variety "illustris" (front, right).

That's the best I can come up with, going from just the one picture.

I was most wanting the name of the white veined one Xant. jacquinii lineatum. For the Demo Garden with the general public visiting mostly, not all will require as specific IDs as you would need.
I "know", think, I have the Colo, "Illustris", Red Stem, Black Magic and Elena. These all came from trades and RUs, some named and others just EEs.
Here is one called Blue Toro ?

This one has the dark reddish "stems". Labeled "Cranberry.
I will get better photos of some others.
There is one that was labeled " Rabbit tracks" and has odd small flap like growths on the leaf.

The "Dave" is a member of our Master Gardener group and I will get him to help with IDs and photos on our next work day. This Garden project is only a year old. We have many theme gardens with a member or two taking on each of the areas. It is mainly for educational purposes for school kids and the general public. The total area of the garden is about 100' X 50'. We also have about 7 acres for the Arboretum and Outdoor Classroom.
My area is the Tropical, Sub-tropical area. There are canas. bananas, tropical hibiscus and gingers. The amended soil, rain and now heat has really made the plants jump. Dave has been a tremendous help with our projects. He will Chair our Plant Sale coming up in September.

The second one you are calling "Blue Toro" is actually Xanthosoma violaceum, a very attractive plant. I have one just like it in a very large pot. I'm waiting for it to bloom - I've seen the blooms and they are very nice, but it is the pollen I'm after. I've got a top secret hybridization project I'm going to move forward on when the right plants are blooming.

The MG plant sale is coming up on Sept. 18. In the tropical area many of the EE's have pups on runners from the mother plant. The EEs are impressive with their size and shape and colors. If we take the babies now and pot them up will they have much size by sale time. Some of these have few or no roots on the babies, will they still produce new plants ?
Any advise will be appreciated.

So long as the babies have a little swelling at the base where the leaves come out, they should root in. Another technique is to pot them without detaching them from the mother plant. They will root and start growing even while still connected; once you see roots coming out the bottom of the pot, you can cut the baby loose from the mother plant.

If you provide adequate water and nutrition, they should be sellable by September 18.

It looks like they do have the swelling at the base. I assume that these are hardy in our zone 8a. With the sale in Sept. they should have time to settle in prior to a Nov. freeze.
What type of fertilizer do you for your EEs ?

I use both a time-release professional formula (that I incorporate into my soil media when mixing it up) and regular Miracle Gro soluble fert. For a time release mix, the closest to what I use is the product called "Dynamite".

I apply the Miracle Gro at 1 tsp per 5 gallons, but use it as regular watering. For EEs such as you have, you have let the pots sit in a tray containing the 1 tsp/5 gal solution, and change it every day. I have some aquatic aroids like Typhonodorum, which really like having the constant low concentration fertilizer solution to sit in. They grow like weeds in it, too!

Once again, Thanks for the information and suggestions.
I have a collection of about 40 or so of these from trades and RUs now. I add a little osmacote to each pot since "Dynamite" is not as easy for me to find.
I am also thinking of putting these pots into a kiddie swimming pool. I will also need/add some type of mosquito dunk product to keep those pest away. I will add a Miracle Grow light mix to about 2" of water in the pool. I grow them in about 75% shade. Most of the water will be absorbed or evaporate in a day or so as changing the water in the pool would be difficult.
In winter I take them into the greenhouse but my heating system will allow me to keep it at just above freezing on very cold times. I cut way back on water since some go dormant when temps drop.
I am interested in getting more/different varieties. Where can I find which ones you have for sale ?

If you are looking for Colocasia varieties, I don't have any. My work involves Alocasias, Philodendrons, Anthuriums, and a few others, although I have many different plants in my collection that are not part of my breeding programs. I believe Brian Williams has many other Colocasia varieties, although I don't know which ones he might have for sale.
