Hello, All. I received this plant in '07 and it was good sized then. I recall it as a tall and very cupped. However, it never did get as tall as I thought, Inniswood is towering over it.

It's very upright, 20" tall, leaves are 6" wide, 8 1/2" long. No idea on the flowers yet.

Thank you!

Maybe a Blue Angel. I have one that looks just like that and I got it from my DMIL 3 years ago. She did not know what it was so I deemed it Blue Angel. Let me know if you figure it out.... Maybe a Big Daddy or Blue Giant or Blue Splendor or Blue Mammoth or Blue Umbrellas.... Try the Hosta Search data base and see if you can narrow it down by leaf size, vein count and flower color etc etc.... www.hostadirect.com Smiling

Christine, thanks for the tries, but there's no way that it's Blue Angel. I got BA from the same source and that's the huge plant that it's supposed to be. The other day I was finally successful in inviting the lady over from whom I bought these. Out of the 24 mature plants that I originally got, 2 were still unidentified. Lucky for me, she brought me a copy of her garden maps and I got the names of the many plants that she had at the time.

Over the past weekend, I had several knowledgeable people take a look at a leaf I had brought - turns out it may be "Love Pat." However, I'm still in a bit of a quandry, as the AHS database and the Hostapedia differ greatly.

AHS has Love Pat as 14" tall, 5" long x 5" wide, 8 pairs of veins.
Hostapedia has it at 19" tall, 9.25" long x 9" wide, 16-17 pairs of veins.

My current measurements are 20" tall, 9" long x 7.5" wide, 15 pairs of veins. Hostapedia has it as blooming mid June, which it is now.

Hmmmm...

Love Pat and Abiqua Drinking Gourd are VERY similar. Could it be that?

I also have Abiqua Drinking Gourd and that's not it. ADG is much more cupped.

Wonder if it could be Elegans? Looks quite similar to mine.

Love Pat is very cupped as well. Elegans is likely larger than this, but it depends on how old the plant is.

I have a similar one that needs an ID. It's very large. The flower is starting to peek through the leaves and it's white.

Pastime--yours looks like Elegans--the short flower scape is a giveaway.

Elegans. Thank you for the ID. The flowers are definitely nothing to speak of, but the leaves are left alone by slugs which is a good thing.

I actually used this post to help me with an elegans situation, myself. I was worried, having been planted beside a possibly sick Dream Queen, if the "ripples" on elegans was normal or sign of infection:

Mine doesn't even really look as blue, though, and is stemmy in comparison to your guys'. Maybe because it is young?

Your Elgans is fine. Smiling They aren't usually as blue as say a Blue Angel.

My first thought was that it's an immature Love Pat, but it could also be Sea Lotus Leaf. Love Pat usually has more cupping at a younger age, Check out the pics at the Hosta Library for Sea Lotus Leaf. It's a Mildred Seaver hosta, and very nice.
