I bought a plant as "Carnosa picta, (hoya, of course) and I've had it at least seven years, and yet it has not bloomed, and not gotten any longer than 10 inches in all that time. I know hoyas do tend to go through "dormant" periods, but I would have expected it to be bigger than this by now, if not blooming as well! It hardly grew AT ALL for the first few years I had it. It looks perfectly healthy, but I haven't had it in direct sun, just bright light. Maybe that's it? It needs some sun every day? Here's a pic of it.

-Seven years is a long time! I had min-e for about 1=1/2 y-ears and one bloomed for me this year. I have 3 others bought at the same time that haven' t done anything. But they all have grown, double in size. From what I hear, they love to be pot bound. Mine are in bitty 4" pots-. Your pots seem to be 6"? I can't really tell. I did give it one dose of bloom food this year.

Yep, about seven years! And it's in a 4" pot. I have never potted it up. Weird, huh?

Seaecho, that's a lovely Exotic Wax Plant (Hoya carnosa 'Picta') you have!

Bright light works for most hoyas; subjecting them to direct sun for very long will fry the foliage. Morning sun is less intense so an eastern exposure may be okay for short periods. To entice blooming you might try giving your plant a mild dose of bloom booster fertilizer (high middle number). I've used Better-Gro 11-35-15 as well as Schultz Bloom Boost 10-54-10. You should be able to find it at Home Depot or Lowes garden center. I'm really bad about remembering to feed my plants but when I do, I always use half the strength recommended on the label. Hoya carnosa and Hoya pubicalyx usually bloom during the summer months for me.
