Royal Hawaiian Purple and Pink Silver arrived today. The Royal Hawaiian is on the left. Wow, they look great! They have the long stalks coming off them. I know they're too young to bloom, but will the first blooms be on these stalks? Also threw in a pic of the "Florida Beauty" Dracaena I got yesterday. I'm so happy with all of them!

seaecho: Very nice and healthy looking plants! I don't know if you will see blooms on your hoyas this year but I think it might be possible to see them bloom next summer. Watch the stems for little growths; I've heard them referred to as "bloom spurs" but the proper term is peduncle. I've heard some refer to it as looking like a little microphone or a spur and that is where the flower umbels will emerge. When plants are young, the peduncle may be quite small; they grow larger as the plant matures.

Those are nice healthy plants. Thanks Lin, for the pictures and explanation. I wonder if I haven't mistakenly cut mine off in the past. I remember the stems were long and leafless, but they did have a growth on them that didn't look normal to me. Oh well, at least now I have an idea why I haven't seen blooms.
