This plant is a weed growing in our yard very tiny and resilient. It quickly grows when there is some water. It smells and tastes minty spicy and I would like to cultivate it to add in my salad. Can you please identify it? Is it safe to eat?

Are there any flowers on it? How tall is it growing? It looks like it could be Rosemary. You might take a sprig of it into a nursery to compare to samples there. I would not eat it though, until you are sure. You can go to the plant data base and look at more photos to compare. Rosemary gets purple flowers.

FWIW I don't think it's Rosemary. I don't know it though.

Not Rosemary. Would you like to hear 100's of stories about people dying from eating an unknown plant? Take it to your Univ. Extension, County agent. Please. Gene
