Hello Jonathan Welcome!

'Cmiral's yellow' does not grow well and only produces few offsets as I learned. Martin Haberer, the German breeder and collector I will receive both 'Cmiral's yellow' and 'Goldsternchen' (the second semp with bright yellow spring colours I know about) from in autumn, did not recommend them for starters.
Seeds won't help you at that point, as semps usually do not come true from seeds, even if crossed with themselves.

Are you just starting or are you expending your collection? Could you post photos of the semps you a already got?

thank you all for your lovely welcome and input. i really appreciate it.

@TerriStanley thank you so much for the links, i've had a look and I forgot to mention, I am from Melbourne Australia, from the looks of it, these are only for US orders only?
@parttimegardener today I just discovered 'Goldsternchen' and now that you mentioned how unstable 'Cmiral's Yellow' is, now i want to have a 'Goldsternchen'

I have had Sempervivum for a year or two, and mainly the common ones, Green Apple, WinterRed, Inferno, Purple Haze, Blue Boy, Montanum.
will have to get some pictures here soon.

@gg5 that's awesome!! so envious of you guys in the states!!
does anyone know where i can find a 'Goldsternchen'? happy to pay for postage / shipping for a small pup to come all the way to Australia.

is there a facebook club of Sempervivum that you guys are on?

Thank You!

@jon_929 yes several of us are on Planetsempervivum on FB...I don't know if Europeans can ship to Australia easier than from here in the USA...but there are many Euro folks on Planet semp. I think there is even an Aussie or two :P
Cheers I tip my hat to you.

Hi Jonathan,

according to Martin Haberer there's no big difference in between the two, both are slow growers. Sempervivum-liste.de considers them being closely related or even the being the same cultivar under two different names. Good luck however in your quest for the yellow semps!

Hi Jon, Welcome! to NGA. So glad you found your way here.

SMG (U.S.)ships out of country, as does Erwin Geiger (German). Check with both of them.

On the two mentioned semps you might do better with maybe 'Bernstein' or one of the other yellow type semps that are stronger growing.
